I think it's a great piece, btw I have OCD as well and to me the image shows clearly what it's like to live in fear of what MIGHT happen......I take meds for it but the OCD is stronger when I'm stressed or upset and better when things are going well......

I understand it the birds fly around recklessly and she shielding her eyes from seeing it. Ocd seeks perfection and I think it displays it well.

I have lived with OCD for almost 30 years.

It's a brutal condition that can ebb and flow (and yes ... even morph) into other rituals / obsessions / compulsions as well as change its level of severity. Severity ranging from being able to cope with it, to being unable to get past getting out of bed each day.

I have noted that the SSRI class of medications (Prozac / Zoloft / etc.), DO indeed help, but it is primarily up to the sufferer and his / her doctor or therapist to experiment with what medication (or combination of medications) will be able to lessen the severity of the condition itself. Takes time to do so. A lot of it comes down to body and brain chemistry ... so really don't come down on yourself, the doctor, or the medication if you don't see results as immediately as you want to (i.e. "NOW! I want results NOW!" type of expectations).

For anyone else out there suffering with OCD, I offer my sincerest empathy. Hang in there. Duke it out. Don't let the condition define you.

Best wishes going out to the artist, "Princess-of-Shadows" for creating this piece and sharing it here with the rest of us out here in cyberspace.

I bid you all "PEACE OF MIND".
