Artist's Comments Briefing Library posters design with a bold twist that would motivate younger and older publics. Translation from left to right - Did you know that Newton found out gravity because of an apple? - Did you know that Coca cola was the one to dress Santa Claus with the color red? - Did you know that Fernando Pessoa had more than 80 heteronims? - did you know that tigers are the only felines that aren't afraid of water? - Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelangelo were envious of each other? - Did you know that glass is made out of sand grains? - Did you know that you can find the oldest cells of the planet in the water you drink? Concept and guidelines The client requested a series of 10 posters to include in a new library with a modern and bold feel. In order to achieve it, I chose to design something that would be able to reach out to a big variety of publics, by calling their attention and appealing to their curiosity. As a library is a place of study and focus, too many bright colors would, of course, give it a more formal and relaxed feel, however it would distract the readers and students. The final concept is the following: The posters are used as teasers by asking the viewer interesting questions, that they would know in case they dedicated themselves to study and read more. This will cause them to search for the answers or even more about each theme. Each of the posters focuses on a different expertize area.
